Rescue Dog "Spot" Still Waiting on Forever Home and Love He Deserves Nearly a Year Later

Pima Animal Care Center

A sweet dog named Spot has been waiting on the security of a forever home since May 2022. Like so many homeless animals, Spot ended up at a shelter through no fault of his own. He, like the others, has no idea why every day he wakes up in a noisy shelter surrounded by frightened and nervous animals that are confused as to how they got there and when it will end.

While Spot may be living in one that is known for its cleanliness, professionalism, and the kindness of its staff and volunteers, it's still no substitute for the comfort and warmth he'd experience in a home filled with comfy furniture, a treat jar on the counter, and a loving family or person that takes him places and springs for things like Puppachinos.

Pima Animal Care Center

Spot is currently residing in a Tucson shelter where the folks he relies on can't say enough nice things about him. He's a 5-year-old neutered black and white pit bull terrier mix weighing approximately 68 pounds, but there's so much more to him than stats!

Here's what shelter staff had to share about him:

"Spot is a goofy, wiggly boy who's always happy and smiling and has become a quick favorite of volunteers and staff alike. This silly sir will be a lot of fun and will definitely keep his future family entertained! Spot shares his kennel politely but will need to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it's a good fit for all. Spot didn't have a secure yard in his prior home, so he is looking for a bit more security and safety in his future home. This boy will be a great companion and would love an active family who will include him in their day-to-day adventures."

Longest-Stay Dogs

While it's not all that unusual for pets in shelters and rescues to be overlooked for adoption for years on end, Spot is hoping that's not the case in his situation. You see, Spot has already been at PACC since May 20, 2022, and he's soooooo ready to go home today!

If you or someone you know have room in your heart and home for a good boy like Spot, email pacc.adopt@pima.gov with additional questions. He's in Kennel D009 and his ID# is A659486. Please share Spot with all of your family and friends to up his chances of adoption!
