My story isn't a story about a rescue dog or a happy ending. You see I've had 'Beautiful' her whole life (she's 5 now) and I had her mother for 13 years. 'Molly' (Beautiful's mom) was a rescue dog.

So, back to the story. Beautiful is my granddaughter since her mother was my daughter. Well, I got put in a bad position over clerical errors and I'm going to prison.

I had Beautiful, Jade (another rescue dog) & Elfira (also had since birth, but not from Molly). Elfira was the eldest at 14. Well I ended up in jail for 5 1/2 months last year. And my friend who was supposed to be taking care of my girls, wasn't.

Jade ended up in the pound and got adopted out. Loss #1. Then Elfira passed due to heat exhaustion. Loss #2. And Beautiful was left without a home for 3 months. Scrounging for food and water just to stay alive. Then I got bonded out of jail and immediately went looking for Beautiful.

With luck I found her. However something has changed and she wouldn't come to me.

I figured being on her own so long that she went feral. So I made a trap and set it and finally got her back. To find out she hadn't gone feral. She was still my Beautiful but something was bothering her. While happy to see me, something was still clearly not right. So, I investigated and noticed that her teats had milk and I began to wonder if she had pups while I was gone or if she was pregnant. So to take precautions I returned to where she had been staying.

I found out then what was wrong with my girl. She had given birth to 4 amazing puppies. They were only 4 weeks old at the most. So I rescued the pups from where they were and took them to their mother. Beautiful was overjoyed that I had found her pups and brought them back to her.

Fast forward past the long nights and whining and growing of the pups. They finally got old enough to find their forever homes. So, I took them and found good loving homes for them.

Now it's present day and it's just me and Beautiful. This is where the story takes a twist. I've been searching tirelessly to find a good home for Beautiful. I already knew I was going to be getting incarcerated. I searched no-kill shelters, sanctuaries, rescues, boarding shelters, fosters and even the Humane Society. With no luck.

Nobody will take my girl. I'm broken. Thinking about running from the law just so I will be able to make sure she's taken care of. I have 4 days left til I go to prison and still have no luck finding her a good home.

The biggest challenge I've found when trying to find her a home is she's unsocialized with other human so she is very afraid of them. She needs someone who can work with her to help her get socialized. And at 5 yrs old it's gonna be a tough job. That's the end of my story. I'm going to prison and my girl is gonna be stuck without a home or family.

I'm sure some of you are asking yourselves why I don't just take her to a county shelter? Well, if I took her to a kill shelter they will deem her unadoptable and euthanize her, and I won't allow that. She's an amazing companion. Just needs someone with patience to help her transition into a different family.
