Meet Chewy, one of the most miraculous rehabilitations ever!
When Chewy, a beautiful Saint Bernard, was rescued by The Last Resort Rescue over two years ago, he was totally paralyzed. Upon his arrival at TLR, he had no bladder control from his paralysis, his fur was matted, his hind end was saturated with urine, and his skin was burning red and angry.
Hours were spent getting Chewy cleaned, shaved, and dried, after which he was looking and feeling more comfortable. Once he was fed and relaxed, Chewy’s physical therapy was started... with full support of his caboose to get him up and moving, to get his blood and spinal fluids circulating because at this time, Chewy couldn’t stand and walk on his own.
Let’s now advance two years for Chewy, the paralyzed Saint Bernard who would never walk again!
The good news is that with all his dedicated physical therapy, Chewy is not only walking today, he is running and living his best life. Thanks to those who never gave up him, and his adoptive family and their love of their big handsome boy, Chewy now does have a wonderful life!
