I rescued my sweet dog Chloe 12 years ago from an animal shelter. Someone had found her on the side of the road in the middle of winter. She was only about 10 weeks old, scared and cold.

She was placed up for adoption, and I was the lucky one who got to bring her home. She was so tiny and lovable. I had just gone through a horrible breakup, and Chloe was exactly what I needed to mend my broken heart — and she did, with endless love and energy.

She loved playing with her toys, going for walks, and playing hide-and-seek with the cat. She’d get the zoomies and race around the house like a maniac, making me laugh constantly. I couldn’t have asked for a better dog.

She can be a little stinker at times, sneaking food off my plate when I’m not looking — but all she has to do is look at me with those big eyes, and I forgive her. I’m grateful every single day to have her by my side.
