My son was walking in downtown Tacoma with friends. As they passed a restaurant, my son heard a small "mew". He looked around, but didn't see the source. Then he heard it again and realized it was coming from a nearby trashcan!

Well, he fished a small, filthy, furry thing out. He immediately took it to a nearby youth center, washed it off and found he was holding a very tiny kitten. Being raised to do the right thing, he brought said kitten home - well, smuggled might be a better word - and showed it to me early the next morning.
I had concerns, but I stroked her little head and my heart just melted. I told my son we'd see what we could do. A trip to the vet confirmed she didn't have fleas (incredibly) and was in good health, though she only weighed a little over a pound.

My husband had been most emphatic on "no more animals" until my son and his fiancee moved out. Despite his stance, he found it hard to hold to it once she walked up his chest to investigate him and he petted her. She curled up on his chest, and his heart began to melt.
With both of our hearts melted, this tiny bundle of adorable has been granted permission to stay, despite any resolves or reservations we might have had. My son's fiancee has named her Kyara because despite her size, she's fearless, at least when it comes to leaping off of things.

It's taken a week for our other two cats, MeeMee and Mischief, to come to terms with Kyara, but they have been worn down by her sheer adorableness.
