Lounging Luxurious Luke can fool you with his chillaxing catitude as seen in his photos, although he has many modes! He is fortunate now to be safe in a space where he can enjoy whichever mode he chooses to be in.
This is a long way from being a sick, suffering kitten alone in the middle of a puddle in a parking lot of an apartment complex. He was scooped up by a caring person and brought to The Cat House. Luke's eyelids were stuck to his eyes when he arrived, and his eyes were infected.
He started on medication for his eyes and went into an experienced foster home. His foster reported that he sees enough to zoom around the house, climb to the top of the cat tree and back down. He loved to play with the adult cats in his foster home. He wanted all the love and attention, and he shared that he has the most soothing purr motor.
He did go in for additional treatment to his eyes by our veterinarian in hopes that he might gain more vision space. After that, he did have to go through another eye infection round of treatment again. Most cats are not the fondest of having eye drops put in, and sweet Luke had to go through the long treatment twice!
Dear Luke also had double cryptorchidism, so his neuter would need a longer healing period and he would have to don an e collar (the lampshade looking safety collar) to keep him from licking his surgery site. Luke recovered with his foster's complete consistent care. It was determined at his recheck that he did have eye scaring with vision limitations and the great news was that no future medical issues were expected with his vision.
Then this champion of recovery and life came into the adoption center to find his adoptive family, and it was discovered that he had a touch of ringworm. When a body goes through a lot of stress, it can open itself up to further issues like ringworm. Luke went back into foster care with his next round of treatment needed.
He and his loving foster mom patiently completed his treatment and he was finally cleared for adoption! Luke's lust for life keeps him moving toward more joyous playtime. He's certainly ready to meet his adoptive family that will love him like he loves life... without limitations!
Below is his purrofile:
Nothing holds eight-month-old love bug Luke back! Whether he’s zipping to the top of his cat tree, zooming all around the house, or romping with the adult cats, this super handsome hunk does not let having only one eye slow him down! He overcame either an injury or infection in his eyes before he came to us and has some scarring as a result, but we don’t anticipate any future issues with his vision. He has also been around kids but no dogs.
Don’t tell him there’s ever been an issue, because he’ll just turn on his abundant charm, rev up his soothing purr motor, and snuggle up for whatever love and attention is being offered! Who could resist a cuddle with such a cloud-soft, silky black powder puff of a boy with a happy, lively spirit and a deeply affectionate nature? A tiny patch of white on his chest must be his little heart light shining through! Darling Luke hopes you see only his great gifts, which he’s ready to bring to a family that will adore and protect him. How about yours?! You can see his adoption page here!
