After moving into our new home, a stray began hanging around. We put out food and slowly gained his trust. One day, we noticed an injury on his side. Weeks went by without it healing. We were able to get him into a crate and take him to the vet. He had his wound flushed and stitched, received an antibiotic shot, routine vaccinations, and was checked for a microchip—he didn’t have one.

The vet estimated he is 2 to 2½ years old. He tested positive for FIV, but our vet reassured us that as an indoor cat, he can live a long and healthy life.

Mr. French has been neutered, and our worries about him adjusting to being an indoor cat were completely unfounded. He is so happy and shows no interest in going outside. He loves treats and playtime, figured out the litter box right away, sleeps by me every night, and the whole family is smitten with him.

I’m so glad we moved into the house we did. I can’t imagine Mr. French not being in our lives.
