Our family was heartbroken when we lost one of our dogs last year to age-related illness. It left a void in our heart that was slow to heal, and we were really not looking for another dog. Then we saw Odie on the Facebook page for The American Belgian Malinois Rescue.

We had always been very active with this rescue, volunteering to evaluate, transport, and even foster a few dogs before helping them find new homes. There were so many in need, and we saw pictures and posts all the time.

But this dog! Not only was he stunning, but there was just something about him that just took our breath away! And our common sense, lol! The next thing we knew, we were driving home with our new companion.

Odie turned out to be more than we ever imagined. He is loyal, loving, and funny. His crazy antics make us laugh every day, and the passion with which he approaches everything in life is contagious. You can’t help but want to join in the fun!

He will never take the place of the dog we lost, but Odie fills his own unique place in our hearts and home. From his morning nibbles and licks to our faces to his crazy wild zoomies before bed time, he has adopted us into his pack. We look forward to every day spent with Odie!
