I have always been a cat person, but I had to let my last cat go after I was diagnosed with colon cancer. In January, a friend of mine found a cat out in the snow and negative temperatures. He took the cat in due to the cold but did not want him. He would have to let him out during the day, due to allergies.

Well, the cat came home with a broken leg and nothing was going to be done about it. I had to go get him. When I brought him home, he had severe diarrhea and the injured leg. I took him to the vet as soon as possible.

He was tested for feline leukemia and given his shots, along with a shot in the intestines and another in the broken leg for pain. I couldn't afford to have the leg re-broken, just prayed he would adapt.

Oliver has been a blessing! He has adapted to the leg injury; you could never tell it had been broken. He now looks his age, not the neglected cat he was! He is into everything, and my elderly mom is his best friend! I just felt the need to share. Every animal needs that chance. He got it and so did I.
