My husband grew up with Siberian huskies and knew that he'd love to have a husky again one day. We searched high and low at local shelters to find a husky mix and finally found a shelter exclusively for huskies located a few hours from our home.

On a Sunday afternoon, we drove down to the rescue and met with multiple dogs. The volunteers brought out a dog named Perry who they thought was a husky/Aussie mix. The second we laid eyes on Perry, we knew he was the one for us!

We were told that Perry was pulled out of a shelter in California, only a few days before he was about to be killed. His previous owner had somehow managed to break this poor puppy's jaw, and, as a result, he is missing about seven teeth. We feared Perry may have trust issues given his past, but Perry wants nothing more than to love you and shower you with kisses.

We spoil our pooch and let him snuggle in bed with us every night! Perry has a very high energy level, and we run him four miles every day (he'd go forever if you'd let him!). We suspect he is part Australian cattle dog because he can jump about five feet high with great ease!

Because Perry is missing many of his bottom teeth, his tongue always hangs out on one side - which only adds to his charm! We love Perry so much and are so happy to have given him the life he deserves.
