Hi, my name is Celeste, and I have about 13 cats. It all started with a mother cat named Sheba, who belonged to my neighbor. She would come down to my house to eat because I left food and water out on the porch.
Sheba had litter after litter — I’d say six or more. Because my neighbor made them live on the porch, every time she had kittens they would eventually follow her to my house, about four houses down the street. To make a long story short, I kept a few from each litter. I now have Sheba’s son, Shady, and her two daughters, Precious and Lil Baby, who was the runt of the litter and is now bigger than the rest.

After I decided to get Sheba and her kittens spayed and neutered, I let the neighbors know. All they said was “OK,” so I went ahead and got them physicals and shots and considered them mine. Then the neighbors moved and left the mom and her kittens behind. I couldn’t believe it.
They are well fed, safe, and warm. Because I leave food out, other strays in the neighborhood found me too — that’s how I ended up with 13 or more cats. I’m the cat whisperer, lol. At least they are safe and warm, especially since it’s 1° on the East Coast.
They are the best thing in my life right now. It can be overwhelming at times due to my disability, but they keep me active.
