On the evening of August 26, 2025, I found an adult cat abandoned near the place where I feed stray cats outside my family's home.

Olfa Ferchichi
She was painfully thin, completely blind, and terrified. She tried to reach the food, but every sound made her panic. She could smell the other cats and dogs around her, but she could not see them. She had no way to protect herself and almost no chance of surviving on the streets.
I gently picked her up that same evening and took her to my veterinarian the following morning. The examination revealed that she had lost both eyes, most likely because of a severe, untreated upper respiratory infection. Her eyes could not be saved, so the veterinarian had to surgically close them to prevent constant pain and infection.

At the same time, I asked him to spay her so she would never contribute to the endless cycle of unwanted kittens. She remained at the veterinary clinic for quite some time while she recovered.
Before opening her medical file, the emergency veterinarian asked me what I wanted to call her. I had not had time to think of a name, and I was not inspired. He smiled and suggested “Tita.” I immediately loved it, and that is how she received her name.
Today, Tita is almost unrecognizable. She has gained weight, feels safe, and has become one of the sweetest cats I have ever rescued. She loves good food, enjoys playing like a kitten despite being an adult, and constantly looks for affection. Although she cannot see, she has learned to navigate her surroundings with remarkable confidence.
Tita now lives safely indoors with my rescued cats, but I dream of giving her something even better: a loving family of her own.

Because she is blind, she deserves a quiet home where she can receive the attention, patience, and love she needs. My goal is to prepare all the veterinary requirements and travel documents so she can one day be adopted abroad. Unfortunately, that process is long and expensive.
At the same time, I am caring for more than 70 rescued cats and dogs, including many abandoned kittens, sick animals, and rescued dogs whose boarding and veterinary expenses continue to grow every month.
