Stray Dog's Matts Are So Thick He's Almost Mistaken For A Piece Of Wood
Damjan is a dog groomer from Novi Sad, Serbia and when he's not grooming, he's out with his partner, Sanja, rescuing stray dogs.
While both Damjan and Sanja have plenty of experience with dogs, there was one rescue pooch who posed quite a challenge.
According to The Dodo, Rocky was living near a gas station when Damhan and Sanja were alerted to his presence. Just by looking at him, it was clear that the poor stray dog needed some help and fast.
In an interview with The Dodo, the rescuers described Rocky as looking like "a piece of wood" due to his matted fur. It'd be easy to see him being overlooked or mistaken for a log due to his appearance.
After spending hours working to catch Rocky, the real work began: grooming the matted fur.
Despite working as a professional groomer, Damjan wasn't prepared for Rocky. He described the dog as the worst case he'd ever seen, saying, "I was just devastated about the condition he was in. It was the worst condition I ever saw."
Because his fur was so matted and serious, Damjan asked a veterinarian for help in sedating the dog before grooming. Thankfully, once his fur was clipped off, Rocky was like a whole new dog!
It wasn't long after that a loving family in England reached out to adopt Rocky and he's now living his best life!
