Tens of thousands of homeless animals are waiting in shelters across the country for a loving home. Many shelters are overcrowded, meaning animals are waiting even longer in shelters to find a family. Thanks to your donations, cats and dogs at a Dallas shelter are snuggling into warm blankets and playing with toys as they wait. 

You made the day of these animals and showed them they are not forgotten. Their spirits were lifted by engaging with toys and their bodies were comforted by the soft blankets. Read some of their stories below. 

Mikey

This 2-year-old sweetheart has been waiting a long time for a home. He loves people and enjoys a quiet and calm life. He just wants to find someone to share it with. He hopes that his special someone will come adopt him soon. Watch as he enjoys his new toy and blanket in the video below. 

Tulsi

Tulsi is a shy young dog who prefers to observe instead of participating in play. She takes time to warm up to new people and environments but once she does, she is so loving. She just needs a patient person who will give her the time and space she needs to feel comfortable. For now, she is relaxing on a donated blanket next to a soft toy. 

Bubbles 

This easygoing and sweet fella is still looking for a home. The 6-year-old is a gentleman when it comes to walking on a leash, calm around other dogs, knows tricks, and loves treats. He loves to explore at his own pace and is looking for a family of his own. He appreciates the donated blanket which he quickly balled up and took a nap on. 

The dogs weren't the only ones having fun. Cats and kittens were also treated to toys, blankets, and goodies. 

Mandy

A sweet mama cat who made sure all of her babies found homes is ready for a home of her own. She is quiet and reserved but quickly warms up when she feels safe. Her perfect home would be a calm and relaxing environment with a family who would allow her to explore and adjust at her own pace. 

She has so much love to give and just needs someone to give it to. She enjoyed batting around the donated toy with a staff member. 

Countless kittens were able to exert some of their energy and curiosity by engaging with the new toys. A very enriching experience.
