Shelter Dog Freaks Out After Learning He's Being Adopted
Life must be difficult for a dog living in a shelter. Although some may have the "right stuff" to be adopted almost right away, others may spend a long time in the kennel.
It must be difficult and disconcerting to watch people come in, ignore you, and walk out with another animal. For some dogs, this becomes a daily reality and they may live with it for months or longer.
That being said, if you are somebody interested in adopting a dog, it is not a choice to take lightly. With a dog in your family, you will be responsible for caring for their needs, be it food, shelter, or medical problems.
Then again, there are some people who make adopting dogs a part of their life, and this includes Joe Kay. He is known for doing his part to rescue dogs from high-kill shelters to keep them from being euthanized.
Joe will also find puppies on the streets and at puppy mills, but the results are the same. He recognizes that these dogs need an opportunity and given that opportunity, they will make wonderful pets for the right family.
Joe doesn't simply pick up these dogs and flip them to a family. He cares for them individually, providing them with the TLC necessary to keep them calm. It's only after he works with the dog that they are truly ready for a forever home.
Recently, Joe started doing something different when he adopted a dog. He knew how special it was for him and the animal alike, but he wanted to show the moment on TikTok.
As you can imagine, his videos are wildly popular, and more than 4 million people are following his TikTok channel. Some of the dogs go nuts in the best way when they find out they are going to be adopted.
When Joe walks up to the dog, he expresses what is happening and although he is calm, the dogs are often very excited. Actually, Joe is also excited and the dogs can't help but pick up on it.
Suddenly, tails are wagging and there's a lot of barking.
There are also some dogs that take everything in very calmly and are very thankful for the attention.
The next step is to fill out the paperwork for adoption and get the human ready to take home a new friend. Joe provides what is necessary to get the dog ready, and then he escorts them to the new owner.
Joe is responsible for putting many dogs that would otherwise have lost their lives into forever homes. It's touching to watch the dogs get excited, and we can't even imagine how excited Joe must be.
This is an excitement you can share as well. By adopting a dog, you are adopting a new family member and that is a beautiful thing. You can see more of his work in the video below:

I love to write and it keeps me busy. I've been working online, full time since 1999. When you can't find me at the keyboard, you'll find me getting as much as I can out of life. I enjoy living simply, playing games, visiting the beach, and spending time with my family.
