Sir David Attenborough Celebrates 97 Years Of Life
Most people tend to celebrate every year of life, but when they get in their 80s and eventually, their 90s and beyond, those celebrations take on a new meaning.
For Sir David Attenborough, the most recent celebration was for 97 years of life. It is something to be proud of, in and of itself, but Attenborough has many other things to be proud of as well.
As he looks back over a lifetime of activism, you can be proud that he has stepped up to the plate for our planet's sake. This included being the voice behind some of the most iconic nature shows ever to be released.
According to Today In Conservation, Attenborough was born on May 8, 1926. He went to Cambridge University, where he received a degree in natural sciences, and in 1952, he joined the BBC.
According to the BBC, as part of his Zoo Qwest program, he traveled the world to show us creatures that we may have never had an opportunity to see. He also starred as the voice in many of the aforementioned nature programs.
And he is not done yet.
Recently, Sir David Attenborough was involved in the World Wildlife Fund, David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet documentary. It highlights the work that he did in his life and also, how the earth is perched on the edge of environmental disaster.
The program was meant to be a wake-up call for our planet, and Attenborough has joined many voices that have been sounding that call recently and in the past.
There have been many awards given to Sir David Attenborough, including a Champions of the Earth Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. Despite his age, he continues to speak on the subject and it will be interesting to see where he takes things in the next few years.
I love to write and it keeps me busy. I've been working online, full time since 1999. When you can't find me at the keyboard, you'll find me getting as much as I can out of life. I enjoy living simply, playing games, visiting the beach, and spending time with my family.
