Brave men and women have been fighting to defend Ukraine since Russia invaded in 2022. For four long years, they have fought and continue to do so in what is now being called the largest and deadliest conflict in Europe since World War II.

In one of these dangerous war zones is a man who found a puppy shortly after the war began and kept him safe alongside him. The dog named Cesar has been his "brother in arms" for years and a much-needed source of joy and comfort.

His safety is all that matters. As bombs rain down from the sky, the soldier is worried about his best friend, so he asked rescuer Lala, owner of 12 Guards, to please take his dog to his mother's where he will be safe and cared for. 

Lala was honored to answer his plea for help. 

When Lala arrived, the soldier needed to carry Cesar to the rescue van as he didn't want to leave. Dogs are the definition of loyal. 

The two said farewell for now and Cesar settled in on his rescuer's lap. Lala shared this story with us and said, "Love means action". Check out the video below.
