Rescuers Save Elderly Dog Suffering On The Streets Of India
When rescuers with Animal Aid Unlimited first saw Blessing on the streets of India, they knew there was something wrong with her, but they didn't realize the extent of her issues.
The senior pooch was visibly emaciated and was suffering from a wound on her head. Thankfully, she was cooperative enough, and they were able to coax her back to Animal Aid, where they could evaluate her and take care of her.
The rescue shared on YouTube that Blessing was suffering from a twitching condition caused by canine distemper. Her involuntary twitching had led to one of her teeth puncturing through the roof of her mouth.
Poor Blessing eventually had a severe infection in her nasal passage as a result of the puncture wound. Rescuers suspect it was the puncture wound and her twitching that made getting food on the streets difficult for her, which could explain her emaciated state.
Thankfully, they had the resources to help her.
They cleaned her wounds and treated her with antibiotics. They even got her to eat a little food!
Slowly but surely, Blessing started to gain some strength and a larger appetite. As her infection went away and her wounds healed, Blessing's personality started to shine.
She may be a senior dog, but she's now running and snuggling like a puppy!
