2nd Grade Student Dresses As Her Teacher For 'Superhero Day' At School

Teachers are often overworked and underpaid, to say the least. My mom is a K-8 grade teacher and principal and she works harder than anyone I know, often leaving at 5:00 am and returning after 8:00 pm, along with working weekends, holidays, and school vacations.

It takes a lot of work to teach a classroom of kids and truly give them a fulfilling and rich education while complying with state regulations and dealing with parents and families. It's hard work that's poorly compensated and often underappreciated, but the impact a good teacher can make on a child's life is invaluable.

That was recently seen at the R.E. Baker Elementary in Bentonville, Arkansas when the school announced a "dress like a superhero day." Students had the chance to dress as whatever superhero they wanted to and one little second-grade student showed up melting hearts.

According to Fox News, that student, Caroline Carlson, didn't choose to dress up as Spiderman or Batwoman. Instead, she showed up to school dressed as her teacher, Jaime Deigh!

According to Fox News, Deigh said, "For her to think that she wants to look like me, and I'm her superhero just because of what we do together each day, it just really touched my heart."

In an interview with Yahoo!Life, Caroline said that choosing her teacher, Miss Deigh, as her superhero was a "no brainer."

She went on to say: "Heroes don't have to have a cape or mask to be a superhero. They're just trying to change the world. Ms. Deigh is a great teacher. She doesn't just teach us 'teacher stuff.' She also teaches us how to be kind and responsible, and to be a good leader."
