Mom Puts GPS Tracker On Cat And Discover He's Living A Double Life
Cats are curious animals and they often don't love staying cooped up inside. Growing up, my family's cats were always indoor-outdoor cats, where they could come and go as they pleased. Sometimes, they'd disappear all day outside and just come in for bedtime and food.
It's a freeing way for a cat to live, but it always left us wondering: What did our cats get up to all day? Where did they go? What did they do? It was always a mystery.
Tinos the Cat Mom is someone who understands this all too well since her cat, Bernie, is always leaving the home for hours.
At first, she wasn't sure where her cat was disappearing to so she came up with a solution and got him a Tractive GPS Tracker for Cats.
Speaking with The Dodo, Bernie's mom explained:
"[Bernie] really does not like being indoors he gets very bored having to stay in the house. We put him on GPS so we know where he goes and we can go back and pick him up if he’s too far."
One night, Bernie did wander too far but his GPS collar wasn't pinning his location properly. Thankfully, Bernie's mom received a text from a family that had him!
The text read:
"Hi! Are you looking for a kitty named Bernie? He actually comes to our home quite often, I will let you know where we are located."
The mom told The Dodo, "We went to get him but then we didn’t find him. We both received a notification on the phone that the GPS hadn’t closed. I received the message because our number was on his GPS collar."
Apparently, Bernie had been living a double life! The other family didn't realize it until he showed up with the GPS collar on. Imagine that!
Bernie's family was able to retrieve him so he's safely back home, but they still let him wander the neighborhood unsupervised.
