Unbelievably Velvety Pibble, Ari, is Still Searching for Someone Just Like You!

Pima Animal Care Center

Pit bulls and mixes involving the breed are found in higher numbers at shelters across America. This is why it can be so difficult for dogs with this lineage to catch a break and find homes once they become a part of the rescue scene. Sure, they were wanted as puppies, but if they have to be rehomed for any reason, they can spend years trying to get out of the system.

That's turning out to be the case with velvety Ari, a sweet brindle boy, who's been stuck in the Pima Animal Care Center for just a few weeks shy of a year — with no end in sight. It's not his fault he ended up there. He's hoping you'll take a look at his bio and maybe be interested in adopting him before another year passes. The older a dog gets, the slimmer the chances of them finding lasting happiness.

Animal Shelter Pets

Staff at PACC helped Ari with the following comments about this sweet fella:

Hey there! My name is Ari, and I'm a love bug of a boy that shelter staff believes to be about 2 years and 11 months old (still a youngin). I love to just chill in the house, and I'm so quiet that sometimes you won't know I'm even there! But I love to cuddle and have been known to jump on my peeps' laps, looking for a quick snuggle and a couple of ear scritches. At approximately 47 pounds, I'm so subtle about it, too, that I just drape my whole body across your lap and wait for those pets. See? Stealth-mode!

One of the things that are extra special about me (and there's a ton, trust me) is my soft, velvety fur! Yep! It's a stand-out feature and gets me lots of attention. Like maybe I should charge people for pets because once they pet me, I'm irresistible! And my ears! Did I mention my ears? Cutest ears evah (and they're soft to the touch, too.)!

I love going on walks, and all the dog walkers at PACC say I'm very easy and enjoyable to work with. Like, who doesn't love a good stroll? Come meet me, give me a pet, and I guarantee I'll be going home with you!

Adoptable Dogs

Ari's been at the shelter in Tucson since January 14, 2022, and is ready to go home today! He's in Kennel D196, and his ID# is A767364. If you are interested in adopting Ari or know someone who is, please email pacc.adopt@pima.gov with additional questions. Please don't let him spend another year in the rescue shelter there.
