7 Spooktacular Ways To Celebrate Halloween With Your Dog
Halloween is a holiday filled with spooky costumes, movies, and tasty treats. If you are like us, then you are planning to spend it with your best friend - which is your dog, of course.
Whether you plan to head outdoors or stay inside, we have a list of fun activities that both you and your dog will enjoy.
Here's some ways to have a Happy Howl-o-ween!
Dress up in costumes and take photos
Not all dogs enjoy wearing costumes, so you may have to settle for a bandana or nothing at all. They are adorable either way and will look great next to you in your costume.
The New York Post shared that the forecasted popular pet costumes for 2022 are a pumpkin, hot dog, bat, bumblebee and a witch.
If you do dress up with your dog, be sure to share the photos and enter a local costume contest.
Watch a scary movie
Snuggle up with your furry pal and have a scary movie marathon. If you like to feel chills down your spine then check out Rotten Tomatoes’ 200 Best Horror Movies of All Time. Otherwise, there are family favorites like Halloweentown and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.
Make tasty dog-friendly treats
Halloween would not be complete without a tasty treat for you and your dog to enjoy. Make sure to keep chocolate and all other candy out of their reach. Instead, offer them a dog-friendly treat. Pull out your apron and make these easy pumpkin dog treats for your good or naughty pup!
It is the one holiday that dogs who are naughty may also receive a treat.
Carve a pumpkin
If you haven't already, you can grab a pumpkin and carve it in the traditional way or try your hand at carving your dog's portrait. You will just need some basic supplies to create your masterpiece. Learn more by clicking here.

Throw a pet-friendly monster bash
Invite some friends and their well-behaved dogs to your home for a fang-tastic "pawty" where costumes are optional. Everyone can bring a dish to pass, and you can arrange games for all the four-legged guests. Oh, what fun!

Go for a "haunted" walk
Go for a stroll before or after the trick-or-treaters come out around the neighborhood and check out all the spooky decorations. Just keep an eye on Fido to make sure he doesn't grab any dropped candy.
If your dog is frightened by all the activity, give them a toy to play with in a quiet place of the home away from the door.
Tricks then Treats
Grab a handful of pet-friendly treats and teach your dog some new tricks. This will stimulate their minds and make them love Halloween thanks to all the extra treats.
Good Doggy Guide shared some great new Halloween-inspired tricks to teach your dog. They provide step-by-step instructions so your dog can zombie crawl, play dead, and so much more by the end of the training session.
Another great way to celebrate is to give something special to shelter pets. All pets enjoy treats, so help us spoil shelter pets by purchasing one, two, or three bags of treats here.
