Woman Races To Shelter To Adopt Dog That Looks Exactly Like Her Rescue Pup

The day started like a typical day for Danielle, but then she received a message on social media about a dog at the Maryland SPCA.
Danielle shared on TikTok that as soon as she saw the dog, she "jumped in her car like a mad woman" and raced to the shelter.
As she explained, the dog at the shelter, Charlie, looked exactly like her rescue dog at home, Barkley. The Maryland SPCA shared a photo of the dog on Instagram and Danielle knew she had to bring the dog home.
Apparently, Danielle had recently been talking to her partner about bringing another dog home and when she saw Charlie in the Instagram post, she thought it was destiny.

After a meet and greet with Charlie, Danielle put a hold on him and went home to get her partner to meet him. As it turns out, he proved to be a popular pup because four other people arrived at the shetler after Danielle to inquire about him, but they turned those people away since Danielle had gotten him first.
In the end, Danielle's partner was on board and the meet and greet with her other dog, Barkley, went well as well. Check out the video below:

In a follow-up video, Danielle revealed Charlie's sad past. Apparently, he'd spent his life neglected with a family who didn't care for him much. He spent up to 16 hours in a cage each day and was suffering from scabs covering his body, in a addition to a double ear infection.
When his owners got divorced, they decided to keep one of their dogs but sent Charlie to the shetler, ripping him from their 11-year-old child that the dog had bonded with.

It's a heartbreaking situation, but now that he's with Danielle, he can get all of the love and care he needs.
She took him to the vet to see to his health issues, and it seems that he's settling in nicely at home.

As for Barkley, he couldn't be more happy to have an identical twin in the home!
Danielle revealed in a sweet video that the two have become "fast friends."
