Families in the United States are struggling more than ever in the face of autism insurance discrimination as well as a lack of resources, assistance, and support. It’s no secret that families dealing with autism are exceedingly underrepresented.

A new piece of legislation called the Autism Services and Workforce Acceleration Act, if passed, would create a national initiative to provide more comprehensive support for people with autism. It is intended to provide critical educational and vocational services to adults — a demographic where autism support falls drastically after primary education. It also aims to give residential assistance to adults.
