NOVICA Artisan Mawar

Mawar

My name is Mawarianti, but my friends call me Mawar. I was born and raised in Lombok, where I was surrounded by unique ate grass crafts and the people who made them. I became interested and formed a small group. Over time, more members have joined.

My husband helps me weave, make roses and design our creations. I am thankful to be married to someone as supportive as he is. We've encountered problems and faced them together along the way. Ate grass is is an essential material for our work and is getting harder to find, so we've begun to plant it ourselves.

"I love giving a hand to people in need, especially women. I want women to be more self-confident and believe in themselves. They should not be easily intimidated or stepped on by bad people."
