I was born in Peru's Apurimac region in 1981. Andahuaylas is known for its beautiful colonial architecture, archaeological treasures and ecological legacy. I am a tenacious man, perseverant, responsible and I always strive for quality.
Ever since I was a boy, I've liked art in all its forms of expression. I first ventured into painting and my closest friends supported me by buying my paintings. I became aware of the crafts in Cuzco, Pisac and Ollantaytambo, and began carving stones. I then became interested in crafting jewelry — from designing to quality control — and this made me want to create my own designs.
"I signed up for jewelry courses and this helped me set up a small workshop with the necessary tools, and I created my first designs. Little by little, I continued training day and night to perfect my technique with perseverance and effort, and my passion for jewelry grows day by day.
"One of the most difficult moments in my life was when my studies were cut short and I lost my workshop. I had to overcome this situation and pick myself up. I lost everything and I took a job as a tourist guide. Then, one day, I met an old client who needed me to work on a project right away, and this is how I began crafting jewelry again.
"It hasn't been easy to get ahead. I learned everything I know over time by going to fairs and researching trends online. I had to practice a lot to master my techniques.
"What inspires me the most is nature's beauty — its landscapes, the colors that transmit peace and tranquility. It's always a visual feast. Now that I live in Cuzco, it's impossible not to capture all of the emotions this magical city inspires. I especially enjoy working with metals, applying different polishing techniques and using different gemstones.
"My dream is to have my own gallery one day, and show the world my art and culture."
