I was born in 1986 in Accra to a Ghanaian mother and a Nigerian father who both grew up to share what they had. My friends describe me as humble, kind and sociable.
Jewelry art is a family thing for me, inherited from my great grandfather. I love the colors of the gemstones we use. I learned the craft by watching my family work. Nature is the source of my inspirations.
"To master this craft, I had to work at it every day and practice more. By grace, I started working on my own and hard work has gotten me this far. At the initial stage, I had some disagreements with my dad because he thought I was going to leave him alone.
"I later started creating designs on my own. I sold them at the art center at a wholesale price. Later, someone rented me part of his shop and I saved money to pay it. Later, I came into an agreement of buying the shop. Although the owner hesitated at first, he sold it to me.
"I love that the materials I use are precious. The sight of them makes you want to touch or feel them! Sometimes, though, it can be difficult to obtain the gemstones.
"Today, I'm married with a baby girl and my dream for my daughter and our future children is to train them to not depend on anyone. I really want them to continue with my jewelry workshop.
"Once, a client gave me an order and address to deliver the jewelry when it was ready. I send the items to the address he gave me but, after I contacted him, he told me he had changed addresses. So I had to hurry to the said address, pick up the order and change the address. Now that was a very difficult process.
"I have big dream. I imagine myself becoming a great exporter some day, and also serving my community."
