“Ever since my grandparents’ generation, my family has been fascinated by handicrafts on the telar de cintura, or backstrap loom, which continues to gift us with beautiful inspiration. My grandmother always said that the greatest inspiration that we receive comes from the heavens. Watching artisans make other handicrafts, with their colors and craftsmanship, always attracted me. This gave me inspiration to create my own designs with a personal touch. I work with a group of women who are also artisans. Together, we combine our knowledge and complement each other’s creations.
