NOVICA Artisan Alida Nunez
Alida Nunez
My full name is Alida Nuñez Ferdmann, and I was born 15 October, 1976. I studied textile design, drawing and photography. My mother is Argentinean and my father is Peruvian, so I grew up within the fusion of two cultures. Both my parents love music and art, and they surrounded themselves with the things they were passionate about. My world turned around this. I guess that's why it's in my blood. When I was studying in college I realized that textile design was completely different to what I was used to, so I welcomed the challenge and worked in this area for seven years after I graduated.
One day I realized I needed to do something on my own, unrelated to textiles. I was watching a T.V. program about a jewelry designer and I became inspired. Since I already loved to design, I didn't even give it a second thought. I told myself it was now or never, so I enrolled in different jewelry courses and workshops to learn as much as I could. Now I design and create my own pieces, which is all the motivation I need to carry on.
"I've been dedicated to this art since 2003, and I would describe my work as original and unique, as well as part of constant search for aesthetic elements. Seeing clients' satisfied faces is the best encouragement I could have. They stimulate me to carry on designing and innovating, creating new things and developing my own style and expressing my creativity.
