Manistee County Humane Society/Homeward Bound Animal Shelter

Manistee County Humane Society is located in Northwest Michigan and we are the only shelter in our county. Manistee County Humane Society was formed as a 501c3 in the early 1980's and rescued animals from the local animal control. In 2005 a facility was built and named Homeward Bound Animal Shelter and we are the only no kill shelter in our area and surrounding counties. Our mission is to provide stray, surrendered, abandoned or abused animals with a safe, healthy, warm place where they will be treated with love and compassion. We spay or neuter, vaccinate and all animals are Vet checked before they are placed up for adoption. Our staff, volunteers and Board of Directors work vigorously to get animals adopted into the best fit and loving homes.
