Help us send 10,000 blankets to those in need this holiday season

As temperatures drop, more Americans than ever live on the streets.

Homelessness in the United States is at an all-time high. After years of improvement, veteran homelessness has increased.*  

With little to no warning, lives can be turned upside down. Whether it's a lost job in an uncertain economy or a natural disaster striking, people and pets, all over the world, are often caught in dire situations, lacking basic necessities such as food and shelter. Often, those experiencing homelessness choose to stay on the streets with their pets, surviving in brutal winter weather, rather than give them up.

Blankets are one of the most critical supplies that relief organizations need to support the unhoused or those lacking heat. They provide immediate relief to people and pets in crisis.

By giving a single full-sized blanket, multiple blankets, or a pet blanket, you can generously support those in need. Your contribution will significantly impact someone's life.

Where The Blankets Will Be Sent:

These blankets will be distributed to individuals, families, and pets in utmost need all over the world. This includes people residing in shelters, the homeless, and those affected by natural disasters - anyone enduring hardship or part of a humanitarian crisis. It also includes animals in humane shelters, rescues, and foster homes, as well as those living with the less fortunate, and those affected by natural disasters.

Updates From the Field:

November 2025- Albuquerque, New Mexico

Thanks to your donations, unhoused people and pets received vital supplies. Animal Humane New Mexico distributed blankets, pet food, bowls, and much more to homeless encampments around the city helping people and their pets.

The veterinary team also helped exam animals and gave vaccinations as well as flea and tick preventatives. 

The outreach team shared, "We were able to provide other pets and pet owners with blankets, pet bowls, food, flea/tick prevention, and even an outdoor cat house for a small chihuahua! We are extremely grateful to Greater Good Charities for these crucial supplies, allowing us to help our vulnerable neighbors and their pets."

Year Round. Greater Good Charities bundles these blankets with their Good Packs, bags filled with hygiene items, extra clothes, food items, and pet supplies. When a person receives a Good Pack they can also choose to receive a blanket. Good Packs are distributed to those experiencing homelessness, disaster victims, and shelters. In 2025 over 13,000 Good Packs have been distributed. Recently packs were distributed at:

• A street outreach event in St. Louis, MO on 9/29
• A veterans Stand Down event in Coatesville, PA on 9/28
• A street outreach event in Pittsburgh, PA on 9/11

2025:  More than 15,000 structures were damaged or destroyed in the devastating fires in Los Angeles County, and, at peak, 180,000 people were under evacuation orders. This means scores of people and pets have been in need of assistance and comfort. Greater Good Charities has been on the ground with partner organizations, helping those impacted. GGC teams have attended several events distributing pet food, emergency pet kits, relief kits, survival and comfort supplies, and blankets. Many were handed out to those in need at the LA Strong distribution event at SoFi Stadium.
