Pets evacuated from frontlines need a safe space.
Imagine being abandoned by your family, stranded in the middle of a war zone with nowhere to go, no food, and no safe shelter. That is the situation of tens of thousands of pets in Ukraine. Greater Good Charities helped open the doors of the Patron Pet Center in the summer of 2023 to rehabilitate and rehome dogs and cats affected by the Russia-Ukraine conflict. But with no end to the Russian aggression in sight, they are desperate for more space to continue rescuing orphaned cats and dogs evacuated from the frontlines. You can help!
Brave volunteers are risking their lives to save animals left behind on war-torn streets and bring them back to the center.
Volchansk city in the Kharkov region has been destroyed leaving only abandoned pets behind. Military members are evacuating as many pets as possible as they continue to fight Russian forces. 50 rescued pets are expected to arrive at the Patron Pet Center today and an additional 30 pets are expected tomorrow.
However, the center is overcrowded and desperately needs more kennels. They can only save pets' lives if they have the space and, right now, they're full!
The Animal Rescue Site is partnering with The Patron Pet Center to help build a quarantine room and dedicated space to house over 200 rescued cats.
The Patron Pet Center is a state-of-the-art facility that was designed with pets in mind. Traumatized animals are treated both physically and mentally before they are put up for adoption. Their rehabilitation is overseen by veterinarians and animal psychologists, who ensure these pets are ready to be adopted. A veterinarian and architect created the relaxing space for both dogs and cats with heated floors in each soundproof kennel, daily enrichment and walks, 24-hour staffing, and much more.
Your donations will save the lives of homeless pets in Ukraine. Donate today!
