Neighbor Boy Stops By To Befriend "Scary" One-Eyed Cat
They say to not judge a book by its cover and that's true not just for people but for animals well.
How often do we see a certain breed or an animal that looks a certain way and pass judgment on what its personality might be like?
Sadly, it's far too common and it's something that Ace the one-eyed cat suffers from. You see, because of Ace's rough-and-tough look due to his missing eye, he's often treated with less warmth and affection than other pet cats might be.
According to The Dodo, Norma Maikovich, Ace's owner, said: "He can sometimes seem scary, especially to children. People are often hesitant to greet him."
She explained that Ace was rescued as a kitten and he lost his eye due to an infection. While he didn't let that slow him down, it did cause him to be misunderstood by people in passing.
Thankfully, not everyone is so quick to judge and Norma's home security camera managed to capture just that.
In the footage, which is shared below, you can see Ace lounging in the driveway of his home when a young boy on a bicycle approaches. The boy hops off his bike and sits at the front of the driveway, attempting to win the "scary" cat over.
Maikovich told The Dodo that after reviewing the footage, she noticed this particular boy stops by "almost every single day" to greet the cat.
It's so sweet to watch their friendship unfold. You can see the footage for yourself below:
