Kitten Blinded by Severe Eye Infections Gets Emergency Care for Best Chance to See Again
Andrea Powell
UPDATE: Aemond had surgery to remove his infected eye and is doing well. The rescue shared, "This baby not only retained vision in his good eye, but found a home in the arms of his foster mum and dad permanently. After they worked so hard to pull him through the other side, they couldn't bear to let him go. This sweet bean has never known hunger, pain, sadness, or suffering since the day we pulled his crippled body from the pavement while he sat in the rain praying for a quick death."

Meet Aemond.
This malnourished kitten was found in horrible condition alongside a rural road unable to see due to severe eye infections in both eyes.
The six-week-old kitten was so weak and needed emergency care to make it through the night. Animal control officers found the kitten and pleaded for help from a local rescue, Saving Kittens Sanctuary.

Even though the small rescue was full and has just a handful of volunteers, they couldn't say no to a kitten in need.
"They pleaded with me to take him so he might pass away knowing love, a warm bed, and a full belly," recalled the rescue.

However, Aemond is a fighter and survived thank to his strong will and dedicated volunteers who cared for him. He was given fluids and several rounds of antibiotics to clear up his eye infections.

While he has regained sight in one eye, the other eye needs to be surgically removed to prevent more problems.
He still has a long road to recovery and needs your support to heal. Donate today and give him the second chance he deserves.
