Dobi was found abandoned with his littermates on the street by a local rescue who took over their care. While his siblings grew stronger and larger, he remained half their size and weak.

It became clear that something was seriously wrong when Dobi developed lameness in his hind legs. He lost all interest in playing and was rushed to a vet to be examined. He continued to decline as tests were performed to try and find the cause. 

After months of unclear answers, specialists confirmed advanced metabolic bone disease. Dobi has multiple fractures across his limbs, spinal deformities, and dangerously low calcium levels. His hind legs need to be stabilized with splints, and ongoing hospitalized treatment to give him a fighting chance.

His treatment protocol has changed countless times as his health fluctuated. In addition to his intensive care, he is receiving therapy with active Vitamin D and calcium to help strengthen his bones.
