Nearly 42 million Americans rely on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits (food stamps) to purchase nutritious food for their families. These vital benefits are on hold due to the federal shutdown.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) who distributes the funds to families in need said, "Bottom line, the well has run dry. At this time, there will be no benefits issued November 01."

Two federal judges ruled that contingency funds must be used to fund SNAP payments, but there is still a gap that needs to be filled.

Children, seniors, and those with pets are now facing hunger. Low-income Americans often feed their pets from their own plates, skipping meals to make sure their animals don’t go hungry. No one should have to make that choice.

Greater Good Charities is stepping in to help fill the gap. With your support, they are delivering food and essential supplies to those in need through their nationwide network of partners and ambassadors.

Donate today to keep families and pets fed. Just $50 can provide 1,000 pet meals.

The SNAP program serves roughly one in eight Americans. Half benefits and uncertain timing mean fewer fresh foods in the cart, more missed bills to cover groceries, and greater reliance on charity. Click below to make a difference.
