Woman Watches Neighbor Move Out And Abandon Their Sick Cat

When Maria Montes looked out her window, she was shocked by what she saw: Her neighbors were moving out, but they intentionally left their cat behind!

In July 2020, Maria took to TikTok to share that about her heartless neighbors.

They didn't even bother finding a new home for him, they simply left him behind as they drove away.

You can watch the moment they drove away in the clip below:

In an interview with The Dodo, Maria said, "They could have told me, 'We're moving out, we don't want him, can you have him.' They didn't tell nobody. They just left him."

Maria shared on TikTok that she continued to check on Rolo, and even days after his family abandoned him, he sat outside and waited for them to return.

Maria began working to win Rolo's trust, but it was slow going. She looked up ways to win a cat's trust and began bringing him food and slowly getting closer and closer to him.

It wasn't easy, but Maria was determined to help the poor cat and stop him from living life on the streets as a stray.

Eventually, Maria managed to get Rolo inside and began fostering her relationship with him even more. It wasn't long after rescuing him that Maria took him to the vet and was hit with devastating news: Rolo had leukemia.

She started a GoFundMe to help cover his extensive veterinary care, writing on the fundraiser page that Rolo had a mouth infection and required sedation for teeth removal, teeth cleaning, and tick removal. He was also suffering from leukeina and feline panleukopenia virus.

Despite his health issues, Maria was determined to give Rolo the best life possible - and she did!

Rolo and Maria formed a close bond and Maria spoiled him with plenty of toys and all the things a cat could want.

Sadly, Rolo passed away on December 5, 2022. Maria shared the news on GoFundMe, explaining that he got an upper respiratory infection and "could not pull through during surgery."

Maria also shared a tribute video for him on TikTok that you can watch below:

While Rolo may have been taken too soon, it's nice to know he got to enjoy two good years of being loved and living life to the fullest.
