Our sweet senior cat friends need help. These cats require special care, whether they have been abandoned, found on the street or surrendered to the shelter by an owner who can no longer care for them.

Shelters, rescues and foster parents have to focus their resources on providing shelter, food and medical care, but senior cats often need, special items which can be costly.  By sending a support package we can help senior cats find comfort in their temporary surroundings; until they find their forever homes.

The SILVER care pack contains a large blanket that is perfect for a cat to snuggle on. Many older cats have trouble regulating their body heat; a blanket helps them stay warm. Older cats have more sensitive teeth or may even lose teeth as they get older, and that is where soft treats come in handy. 

The GOLD care pack contains a large blanket and, soft treats. You'll also send a probiotic supplement to provide essential nutrients and vitamins to help the cat stay healthy as they get older. This pack also includes a self-warming bed a favorite of cats of all ages, but particularly helpful for senior cats which often lose body weight and the ability regulate their body temperature. Each bed provides a comfortable spot for the cats to rest and relax. Help our older friends stay comfortable and happy.

The PLATINUM care pack includes a large blanket and a self-warming bed! A senior cat litter pan will also be sent. Many older cats end up with sore joints and some may lose their balance, making it harder to use traditional litter pans. This low-entrance litter pan lets them easily walk into their litter pan. You'll also provide a bottle of Feliway spray which helps calm the cat during times of change. Feline stress can often manifest in urine spraying, scratching, fighting or hiding - all of which can hinder the adoption process. By sending the Platinum pack you can make a significant impact on a senior cat's life for the better.

Meet Uncle Chip

This senior feline was rescued from the streets during a winter storm. It is a miracle he survived so long on his own. 

He arrived partially blind suffering from arthritis and ear infections. He is now on a daily medication to help with his arthritis and found something he loves to eat- treats.

Meet Panda

Panda is one of 8 animals that were surrendered to Friends of Metro Animal Shelters from a breeder. They are unsure of his age but believe him to be at least 12 yrs old. When they got him, he was heavily matted. This breed requires lots of care for their coats. He was also uncomfortable and uneasy with new surroundings. The shelter discovered that he loves being petted and brushed. Probably not something he had ever experienced in his life. He also adores having warm sunny spots to nap and relax!
