Hoarding and Overcrowding Cases Are Surging, and Hundreds of Innocent Animals Are Paying the Price

In just a handful of recent rescues, more than 150 dogs and cats have been pulled from overcrowded homes and hoarding situations across the country, sick, suffering, and denied the most basic care for far too long. These aren't isolated tragedies. They're part of a heartbreaking pattern playing out again and again, and every case leaves dozens of animals in urgent need of medical help all at once.

Right now, three of these cases need you. Together, they represent 153 survivors who have finally reached safety, but whose fight to heal is just beginning.

32 dogs — Florida. Dogs of every age, size, and breed were crammed into a single severely overcrowded home, with no space, no individual attention, and no medical care. One bulldog arrived struggling to breathe, with nails so overgrown that walking was painful. Others are battling fleas, raw skin, eye problems, kidney stones, and heart conditions, and many still need spay and neuter surgery.

47 dogs — Pennsylvania. After years of suspected neglect, these dogs were rescued from a home with no clean water, no electricity, and none of the care every animal deserves. Many need treatment for painful dermatitis, dental disease, and ear infections, and several are so critically ill they require emergency surgery for life-threatening conditions like pyometra.

74 cats — Pennsylvania. Found in filthy, overcrowded conditions, these cats were sick, injured, and severely matted, with little access to care or comfort. Now safe, they need treatment for painful skin and eye infections, malnutrition, and advanced dental disease, and some need surgery before they can begin to recover.

These 153 animals survived the worst. Now they need us to help them heal. Your gift can provide the veterinary care, medications, surgeries, and ongoing treatment they urgently need to grow healthy, strong, and ready for the loving homes they've waited their whole lives for.

Greater Good Charities works to provide emergency medical care to pets in shelters across the country and around the world, meeting critical needs including food, supplies, transportation, sterilization, and disaster relief. With your donation to the Emergency Animal Medical fund, you can help cover the care these survivors need and be ready for the next case, because sadly, there is always a next case.

They've already waited far too long for help. Please don't make them wait any longer. Will you be there in their time of need?
