The country of Burma sits on the shores of the Indian Ocean, just west of Thailand, and has been experiencing an escalation of violence by the ruling military junta toward its people. Recently, a rash of violence against peaceful protesters -- many of them Buddhist monks -- has drawn global attention to the denial of basic human rights and rampant poverty which has existed in the nation for decades.
Hand-cut and polished by skilled silversmiths in Peru, our Sterling Burma Pin is a simple, gleaming representation of your awareness and observance and is well-suited to sweater, jacket, lapel -- even a backpack.
Pin measures approximately 1.5" L (3.8 cm) and has a tack-style closure. Handmade in and fair-trade imported from Peru.

Artisan Information
Based in Lima, Peru, Dellapina has been a company for almost 50 years – starting as a family business that is already involving its third generation of artisans. Most of its artisans have been with the company for several decades, working with Dellapina for so many years to help pass the process of making handcrafted jewelry to the next generation. Every individual has the opportunity to go from apprentice to being a teacher.
This work enables the small collective of employees to support their families – sending their children to school, and preparing them for a better future.
