As another customer commented, the overall bag is 23" long and a standard yoga mat is 24" wide, so there's no way to get the mat into the bag! The response from GreaterGood Customer Service mentions a second zipper at the end of the bag, but that is only for a small pocket - it does not open the bag to put the mat in from the end. I wish I'd read the review before purchasing the kantha bag. It's really great looking and would be perfect, if only it were made to actually accommodate a yoga mat :(

Beautiful pattern and quality of the bag however the zipper does not extend the full length of the bag on either end so it’s impossible to get a yoga mat inside. The length of the bag is exactly the same as the length of a yoga mat when it’s rolled up, so no wiggle room to maneuver it in. Very disappointed.
