“Starting a business on your own is difficult and requires time and a lot of effort. I started this project very young. Despite the complications that arose, such as overcoming the economic crisis in Mexico, I bet my assets so that my business could move forward and my people could continue working. Along the way, I have counted on people who support me with their knowledge; however, my drive to persevere has always been my children.
“I have always liked painting, but I realized that it was better to make small pieces so that people could take them with them. However I decided to work on both hobbies. From a very young age, I started developing and creating pieces, perfecting and working on different techniques and trends.
“I have always enjoyed what I do. I took classes in painting, engraving techniques and the assembly of handcrafted pieces. I like to transmit the best energy in my work, so that my pieces tell you something, remind you of someone, or take you through nature and the world we are in.
“In this type of art, I really enjoy various aspects, mainly that I can use the entire color palette in one piece. I look for my pieces to be full of symbolism, beliefs, roots and contrasts. It is also important to consider the materials that are used to shape each piece. Some are recycled, such as still life and tin foil; especially for crafts, paintings and trimmings, which are essential to give life to each new creation.
“Then comes the challenge: that the pieces that I make with all my love and dedication are valued by people.
“I would like, above anything else, to continue being who I am, with a simple life full of the people I love, and to continue creating pieces for as long as I am allowed. Also, to continue training my collaborators so that they can learn this beautiful trade and make a living from it.”

NOVICA was started with a dream to create a better world for artisans, because a better world for artisans is a better world for all.
Along the way, the founders of NOVICA discovered something very important - as artisans around the world succeeded, there was also a visible and profound impact on the communities around them.
Your purchases are that powerful. They directly and indirectly provide for education, help with health care, fund basic needs, support children, preserve disappearing arts, and of course, spread happiness around the world.
The founders of NOVICA had a vision of the future that is not one of mega factories producing cookie cutter products for all to cheaply consume. Instead, a bright future that celebrates artisans who take the time to create an item by hand. A future where time is protected, where stories are told, where unique details are honored. Love, respect, inclusiveness become driving force.
