Sweetheart was surrendered to a shelter after developing vaginal bleeding and discharge, eventually becoming lethargic and losing her appetite. An intake counselor recognized the signs of pyometra, a life-threatening uterine infection, and worked to get her into treatment instead.
Sweetheart arrived dehydrated with severe stomach swelling. Multiple screenings confirmed the diagnosis, and bloodwork showed elevated white blood cells and unstable vitals. Veterinarians started her on antibiotics but she needs emergency surgery to resolve the infection and prevent it from returning.
Sweetheart continues to fight but needs your support to receive the care she needs to survive and thrive.
