The Animal Rescue Site, Freekibble, and Greater Good Charities' Good Flights are teaming up on a life-saving flight. Will you help fly these shelter cats to freedom?

When flood waters inundated the tiny town of Spencer, Iowa, no one was prepared for the devastation that would be left behind. In a town of only 11,000 residents, 2,500 homes sustained flood damage - 1,000 of them are beyond repair - leaving thousands of people and pets homeless.

In a matter of minutes people lost everything in the floods. Help us ensure they don't lose their pets too.

Local shelter, People for Pets, has taken in dozens of displaced pets; caring for the animals while their owners get back on their feet. People for Pets shelter director, Jenna, told us, "We had probably 70 animals that were displaced from their homes that we had to figure out what to do with."

Between their pre-flood rescues and these flood victims, People for Pets is extremely over capacity. And due to the flooding, they're receiving 5 times their normal inquiries from people seeking to surrender pets while their adoption rates have more than halved. They're at their breaking point!

This emergency flight will send dozens of cats, that had been waiting to be adopted before the flood, to new homes in New York, freeing up vital space at People for Pets so that they can continue to care for displaced pets.

The flight will save these cats' lives and ensure families aren't broken up.

This sweet feline has been waiting for almost three years at the shelter for a loving home. Mary Beth adores attention from humans but hopes to be your one and only. She is not afraid to use her paws to ask for attention and pats. 

While she will be missed at People for Pets, the team is so happy for her to start her new life in New York. 

FIV-Positive Boys

Four male felines who are all FIV-positive will board this upcoming flight to find their person in New York.

George and Ranger have been waiting for months while Tommy and Skittles have been at the shelter over a year.

These friendly fellas are sure to find loving homes soon.
