Hienna was abandoned at a vet clinic while suffering from babesiosis, an internal parasite contracted from ticks that infects red blood cells. Once a pup with the potential for a happy healthy future, poor Hienna was now severely underweight and malnourished.

Hienna's body, starved of vital nutrients and calcium, had rendered her muscles immobile. Frail, ill, and at her lowest, she couldn't move or stand, but within her a spark of resilience glimmered.
