URGENT: Help us rebuild new kennels and care for pets displaced by a missile strike.

The Best Friends Animal Shelter (BFAS) in Fasova, Ukraine, was destroyed in the first months of the war. When the shelter was hit multiple times by shelling, the team relocated to save as many animals as possible. Unfortunately, just as they began to rebuild, BFAS sustained another missile strike and most of the new facility was destroyed.

With the help of donations and assistance from various foundations, BFAS is once again working to rebuild. There are currently over 650 dogs, 350 cats, horses, foxes, and a raccoon dog in their care. Greater Good Charities is providing kennels, a cat room, and medical care for these pets.

Meet Madlen.

The staff thought Madlen did not survive the attack but were relieved when they found her.

Many of the dogs ran off into the nearby woods to hide after the missiles hit the shelter.

The sweet pup could barely walk due to injuries to her legs from missile fragments. She needs our help to recover. 

Meet Alen. 

Alen was rescued in the middle of the Kakhovka dam disaster. Volunteers had to break the chain restraining him to save him as he had been left behind by his owners.

Alen was very thin and suffering from heartworm disease. Best Friends Animal Shelter was able to provide him with medical treatment to stabilize his health.
